CHEZ BUSHWICK
Identity
Identity
An artist-run organization and art performance space with a strong focus on new choreography in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The space fosters the creation, development and performance for current artistic projects. Chez Bushwick also has performance programs that encourage freedom, collaboration, and creative risk-taking. My assignment was to develop an identity for this space. As I began, it became clear that the end result should constitute a visualization of the space and the surrounding industrial neighborhood. To create a mood for their concrete building and rough neighborhood, I used spray paint to match the unfinished surface of the building. Setting the typography on the top at a 15° to represent movement and energy. The color of florescent orange gives a contemporary look.

SWEET SUICIDE
Book
Book
An accordion book inspired by Dr.Nancy Appleton's shocking video that exposes the health risks of sugar consumption. Each page presents one harmful effect that can link to a wide range of health disorders. The title letters for Sweet Suicide are; on one side, photographs of actual candy spelling "SWEET" representing a nicer side, on the other, photographs of white sugar "lines" represent a negative.

ALBION
Type Design
Type Design
A typeface rooted in humanist sans-serif typefaces such as Rotis, Scala Sans and Gill Sans. Albion was developed from 8x8" sketches and was refined until each character became finely shaped. Then I traced the sketches with Illustrator. The capitals have classic Roman proportions, while the lower-cases show geometric tendencies tempered with humanism to increase warmth and legibility.

TOUCH-ING
Thesis Book
Thesis Book
We can't imagine how much information we receive by the sense of touch every day. touch-ing explores how touch can be applied to design. Stemming from an elaborate perceptional system, the quality of tactile information is more complicated and profound than visual information. Touch can evoke emotional responses such as security, happiness, and love. I created three tactile products that is a functional, a visceral, and an emotional. These generate a strong communication between products and user.

SPLASH! HOW GOOD WATER WORKS
Exhibition
Exhibition
An interactive exhibition centered on water conservation. Ten stations show problems and solutions using print, movie and sound. Visitors experience the actual and virtual presence of water (our water footprint) in the products and services they use every day, such as steaks, t-shirts and light bulbs. I was responsible for the storyboard and illustrations for this movie. Snap! demonstrates the relationship between water and electricity. The movie is played in the iPod touch displayed on the wall. In addition, I was involved in the production of three-dimensional box to demonstrate a volume of water-footprints in everyday households. The boxes are different sizes, with each exhibiting the size of its water footprint.

WATERWORKS
Identity
Identity
A luxury brand for the bath and kitchen. WATERWORKS has products that combine a 19th century European craftsman's quality with a modern taste. To create the "classic but modern" quality, I combined two Ws, using two different typefaces. One is a classic serif typeface (Baskerville), and the other is a dotted typeface that represents water. This sophisticated logo applies to all of the identity materials.

EDUCATION COUNTS:UNESCO Exhibition in the UN
Exhibition
Exhibition
An exhibition focused on the role and benefits of education to end poverty, to reduce child mortality rates, and to fight disease epidemics such as AIDS. I was responsible for generating the visual concepts, and one of my concepts. My concept — gigantic books — was adopted for this exhibition. The huge books attracted attention and created a physical experience for visitors.
